What to expect at your appointment
1. To be greeted by our friendly receptionist who will check you into the clinic.
2. To be seen by our Orthoptist, who will check your vision and eye pressure and perform any additional scans relevant to your eye symptoms and referral, such as an OCT scan, Humphrey Visual field.
- Please note some additional scans have an added cost and you will be quoted these on the day before proceeding.
3. Depending on your eye condition/problem, the Orthoptist may put pupil dilating drops in your eyes. These drops enlarge the pupil, allowing for the back of the eye to be thoroughly examined.
- These drops will blur your vision for a few hours, so it is recommended that you do not drive home.
- It is recommended that you wear sunglasses outside when you leave, as the dilation effect increases sensitivity to light.
- These drops take about 15-30 minutes to take full effect.
4. Dr. Krilis will perform a thorough examination of your eyes and explain in an easy to understand manner your eye condition and what the best treatment option is
- Please note: Due to the many stages of the appointment, including pupil dilation time, we recommend you allow up to 2 hours for your appointment.
